Spotify DJ just dropped 🎵

We’re gonna say it. Don’t get mad at us.

Apple Music > Spotify

Our opinion might change soon.

Spotify just announced the release of DJ.

DJ is a ‘personalized AI guide that knows you and your music taste so well that it can choose what to play for you.

Here’s how it works:

  • Spotify’s personalization technology: Recommends music based on what you like

  • Generative AI: using OpenAI technology, music editors can scale their knowledge about music, artists, and genres that you’re listening to

  • A dynamic AI voice: realistic voices from text via Sonatic

The AI dropped today for users in the U.S. and Canada, you can check it out here.

We’re still team Apple Music over here, but that might change in the near future. 👀

GPT’s got competition 🦾

Competition is inevitable, and typically a good thing.

Okay, except for that kid that tried really hard in gym class.

This time OpenAI’s GPT-3 has some serious competition.

Luminous-Supreme is an AI model created by German AI startup, Aleph Alpha.

They just released Luminous’s benchmarks compared to GPT-3.

Check it out.

Luminous nearly matched the performance of GPT-3 in almost all tests.

So what?

GPT-3 has 175B parameters.

Luminous only has 70B parameters.

Aleph Alpha is expected to drop Luminous-World sometime this year.

Luminous-World is expected to have over 300 billion parameters.

It looks like GPT-4 is gonna have some serious competition.

You can check out the Luminous AI model here.

Amazon joins the race 🐎

ChatGPT is bringing another tech giant into the chatbot war.

This time, Amazon is joining in on the fun.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) just announced a partnership with Hugging Face.

Hugging Face is a community and data science platform used to complete Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks.

Together, the two companies ‘aim to accelerate the availability of next-generation machine learning models by making them more accessible to the machine learning community and helping developers achieve the highest performance at the lowest cost.

Hugging Face has over 100,000 free and accessible machine-learning models.

You can check out more details about the collaboration here.

That’s it for today! We’ll see you back here tomorrow.
