💰 Google Invests $$$ in Anthropic

It’s safe to say A.I. has gone mainstream.

Big tech is racing to invest in the next big start-up.

Google is no exception, as they recently announced a $300m investment in Anthropic.

Anthropic is an A.I. startup co-founded by ex-staffers of OpenAI.

The investment will give Google a 10% stake in Anthropic.

The deal also means Anthropic will only be using Google for computing resources.

Here’s where things get interesting.

Deepmind is an A.I. and research lab, acquired by Google in 2014.

You’re probably wondering why Google acquired another A.I. lab if they already have one they’ve been building for almost a decade.

TBH, we’re wondering the same thing.

Anthropic will soon release Claude, a highly anticipated ‘ChatGPT-like’ A.I. assistant.

Meanwhile, DeepMind is soon to release Sparrow, their very own A.I. chatbot soon.

We’re unsure where this is headed, but we’ll keep you updated.

🗼Live from Paris

Google is back in the limelight.

This time from Paris.

Google recently announced a streaming event called “Live from Paris” that will be held on February 8th.

The event will be about “Search, Maps and beyond.”

Google is “reimagining how people search for, explore, and engage with information,” according to the event description.

We all know the event is gonna be about A.I.

Most of us are expecting Google to unveil a ChatGPT competitor.

You can watch the event live here.

We’ll keep you updated.

U.S. 🤝 E.U. on A.I.

The U.S. and E.U. don’t always get along.

However, on A.I. it seems like they do.

The U.S. administration and the European Commission signed an administrative arrangement to “bring together experts from across the U.S. and Europe to further research on A.I.

The joint development model and integrated research are focused on five key areas:

  • Extreme Weather and Climate Forecasting

  • Emergency Response Management

  • Health and Medicine Improvements

  • Electric Grid Optimization

  • Agriculture Optimization
