ChatGPT Updated

Open AI, creators of ChatGPT, just dropped an update for the famed A.I. chatbot.

According to the patch notes, they “upgraded the ChatGPT model with improved factuality and mathematical capabilities.”

You college kids taking calculus rn are lucky.

The update comes during a trying time for academics.

ChatGPT has been used to pass exams, write papers, and cheat on assignments.

Although the A.I. chatbot is good at some most things, it has always struggled with math.

Reddit user u/KC7NEC-UT explains why, here’s the rundown:

  • ChatGPT is trained to generate human-like text: “These models are trained on large amounts of text data and use complex algorithms to generate coherent and often realistic-sounding sentences”

  • Math uses numbers and equations: “It involves logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. In order to do math well, one must have a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to apply them to solve complex problems.”

“In short, while a language model may be able to generate text that sounds like it understands math, it is not capable of actually doing math.”

Basically, me taking a math class.

De-aging Tom Hanks

We’ve heard of all the crazy things celebrities do to look younger.

Cosmetic surgeons, laser treatments, ultrasounds therapies.

You get the point.

Tom Hanks has a new approach to looking younger on screen.

Doing nothing.

Well, sort of.

Robert Zemeckis’ movie ‘Here’ will use A.I. to de-age Tom Hanks and Robin Wright.

Metaphysic Live, a new generative A.I. tool produced by Metaphysic will be used.

The company just announced a strategic partnership with the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to develop generative AI tools and services for global talent.

Nothing like some Hollywood magic

Dr. ChatGPT Returns

Remember when we talked about ChatGPT passing the US Medical Licensing Exam?

If not, check it out here.

The A.I. chatbot is back in the field, this time with a fresh new UI.

Glass Health just released their new tool, Glass AI.

With a single prompt it can make:

  • Differential Diagnoses: List of possible conditions that share the same symptoms provided.

  • Clinical Plans: Presentation of information that describes the services and support being provided to the patient.

You can try out Glass AI here.

Remember, this is a tool intended for educational purposes. This shouldn’t be used to replace clinical judgment.

That's it for today. We'll see ya back here tomorrow!
